Triple A Marbella Animal Shelter / Refugio de animales

Without volunteers we would not be able to do all the work that is necessary to run our shelter. We are very grateful for our volunteers who make it possible for us to take care of all the animals in need.

Most volunteer opportunities are available during opening hours, Monday to Friday and Saturday and Sunday. Your help as a volunteer at the shelter will be extremely valuable to us. There are many more jobs that need to be done apart from taking care of the animals! If you have some time to spare during the week you could clean, walk a special dog, help in the cat house or carry out tasks that you know how to do. We sometimes need someone to paint, mend things, work in the garden, etc.

We are always in need of “dog walkers” every Saturday morning from 9 am. you are welcome to help us walk all our dogs, wear appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes sometimes gloves are helpful as some dogs might be pulling the leash! For safety reasons children until 16 years old will have to be accompanied by an adult and cannot walk a dog alone.

You will be walking in a small group and meet great people from all walks of life and different countries.

You can help by organizing a fund raising event, this could be anything from a dinner, lunch or dance event, to having a collection tin, contact us if you would like to organize something.

You can donate second-hand clothing or objects to be re-sold at the second-hand market we organize on our open days and at other events.

Please have all clothes and items in good re-salable condition.

You will help us tremendously with donations of things such as:
  • Dry cat and dog food
  • Dog and cat beds, etc.
  • Scratch poles for the cats
  • Animal transport crates
  • Blankets and towels
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Disinfectants and cleaning solutions, bleach, amonia, etc.
  • Rubbish bags

Preferably no pillows or other quilts that have stuffing that will spill all over the place!!

Please contact us for details and delivery times, also possible pick up.

Volunteers must meet all of the following requirements:
Be at least 16 years of age. If you are younger than 16, there are other ways to get involved.
Be able to commit to a certain time period of volunteering. Some in-shelter opportunities require a minimum of one regularly scheduled, recurring shift every week or every other week. Shifts are 2-4 hours depending on the assignment.
Read and comprehend detailed policy and protocol information as well as being able to remember and follow shelter rules.
Communicate professionally, as human interaction is a requirement of many volunteer roles.
Any help, no matter how small, is most welcome.
